If you're using a computer of some sort to ask your question here (i.e., not a smart phone), go here and download the driver for your adapter and save it to a USB flash drive: Sounds as if the "shock" (probably static electricity), damaged your USB ports as well as your power supply.ĭo other USB devices work in the port(s) to which you want to connect your wireless adapter? What can I do to get this working again? I can't I plugged this in my Surface Pro 4 and it reads it. Uninstalling, deleting driver, and restarting computer didn't work. My adapter just won't install and I can't figure out what to do. So now that my computer is back up and running
I took it to a computer repair and learned that my power supply was bad. The power button blipped but that was it. Resulting in me not being able to turn on my computer anymore.
One of the suggestions was to install a update from the net which is stupid because how can I install something if I can't connect to the net? The next problem I went to plug in my Linksys AE 1000 wireless adapter and it gave me a error code no. It took a few restarts to get the USB ports to read my keyboardĪnd mouse. A few days after I changed out the power cord and sure enough my computer came on. The power button would blip and the fans turned when the power button blipped but that was it. January 5th I was unplugging my computer's USB port and it shocked my computer and it immediately turned off.
